Paradoxal

Copenhagen new trend! Packages are placed near the cash machine so the girls don’t have to waste time on getting it. And of course it is already in my hands.

E-shopping

Why is it so easy to buy on the net? And why there is so many nice things in net-a-porter? Anyway, those were my last purchases.

WTF? Where is the summer?

I know Denmark has a challenging weather. I know that this is a northern country and not a tropical one. But still, where is the summer? So far only 4 lousy hot days: 1 day beach, 2 times in the garden, 1 at work followed by Danish classes. Comparing to the previous years, by know I should be in sandals and tanned. This was punishment for hosting the clime conference. Global warming?! Probably, but not this summer and definitely not in Denmark.

Laziness

Today is a holiday in Denmark. The weather is gray. Today I am watching DVDs, second season of Big Love with cakes from Lagekagehuset… Delicious! Of course I should be on a diet but I will make it up tomorrow in the gym. Of course I should be writing my PhD but I will make it up another day… Yesss… Laziness strikes!

Game night!

On Saturday J was having is friends over for dinner. And because it was a “boys only” thing, I was gently kicked out of the flat. And it was fantastic! I went over M’s place for a game night! Love it! I am really addicted to games and that’s why I never play for money. M, M’s boyfriend and me went through the night with a very nice conversation, laughs, board games, cocktails, beer and wine. I got so drunk! OMG I am really getting old. When do I convince myself this alcoholic life is not for me anymore? Really, hangover the next day is a killer, but the fun I had in the night was priceless!

Friday’s painting

After 2 very busy weeks having a long weekend it’s really great. Friday was an holyday because it was praying day. Having so many people living in Denmark from so many different religions, a praying day was needed to avoid holidays for each religion. Are you religious? So here you go… Today is praying day. I was also praying, but in my case I was praying that I was born with some skills to paint a flat. And I did! J and I decided to paint our dining room. It was the first time I painted walls, doors or anything in a house. And I was actually ok! I really got the handle of it! Weeeee! Of course the next day I was in pain: pain in the legs, arms, etc.

It's not a writer's block

Yes, I haven’t written so much on the blog and I feel sad for it. But it is not a writer’s block. The truth is I have been on vacation, sick, work, Portugal, sick again, more work and addicted to the FarmVille and SocialCity games from Facebook. I am beginning to write my PhD thesis that I will have to delivery in the end of August. So, busy, busy, busy.

Taking a cab... over Europe

The volcanic eruption in Iceland has spread plumes of ash, thousands of feet into the air, over North Europe and UK. Airports have been closed and chaos was installed among people who were away from home and wanted to come back. It’s in times like this that imagination, good will and money make funny stories happen like taking a cab over Europe. Danish guys took a cab from Portugal back to Denmark. English lawyer just got out of the hotel in Denmark, called a cab and said: “To London Please!” “Very well sir give me 1h and I will pick you up here”. Danish musician was stocked Italy and wanted to go back home. A group of taxi-drivers suggest they would pick him up for free and in exchange he had to play on their summer party. The musician said yes!

It’s funny when things go a little bit out of the normal... J

R.I.P. Alexander McQueen

Today one of the greatest designers of our times has committed suicide. It is so weird, so unbelievable and so sad.

Born in 16 March 1969 this English fashion designer left behind and remarkable career with is so well known skulls. I had bough recently a scarf because the clutches (amazing) were a little bit out my budget. Now I look at it and I think that this piece is from one of his lasts collections. Lee Alexander, wherever you are we will miss you.

I got a present!

Out of the blue J gave this very nice dress from See by Chloe! So cute! I can't wait to wear it in Cape Town! Only 20 days to go!

Brunch

Saturday! The best day of the week! Not melancholic as Sunday and you can wake up late and charge batteries from the week.

Today I manage, (I really don’t know why) to drag J for a brunch. We are together for 4 years now and it was the first time I could drag him to brunch: and he didn’t complain! He always says, “it’s boring”, “I rather have a showarma”, “café life it’s for girls, guys get bored” and so on. We have a lot of discussions about brunch. For some guys you say the word brunch and they start immediately with an allergic reaction. It’s only food for god sakes! It’s nice because you have a very mixed meal and you can relax, enjoy and talk for hours. Maybe it is the talking for hour’s part that scares them away J

Anyway, the brunch was really fantastic! Super! Very good food! Unfortunatelly, when we finally went for the desert and hurry up for the marshmallows spears to deep them in chocolate fountain, they were GONE! Not even one! I complained to the chef but he told me the kids had taken it all and there was no more. Spoiled brats! Anyway, better off without those calories. Nice kids, then.
In the end, I just felt bad because I was supposed to go there with the girls. M saw a review about it and she was very curious about the place. But we end up cancelling it. M, I promise that next time you want to go I will not say no!

If you live in Copenhagen, and if you want to go for a good brunch, go to lé-lé. You wont regret it! Check the site for more info http://lele-nhahang.com/.

Copenhagen in January

Frozen!

Gotcha!

Since November I have been hunting down this dress. It's from Acne. I gave my name in different stores waiting lists, browse on the Internet and nothing. Sold-out! Luckily, the other weekend I have found it in a store in Malmo. It looks so good! And I have already tried it on! Dress combined with thin coolants and temperatures below zero. Can’t believe how I did not got sick!
